Cell Phone Use

Please remember - DO NOT USE CELL PHONES DURING STUDENT PICK UP OR DROP OFF; it is for the safety of our students. Thank you for your cooperation.

Cell phones are not permitted at St. Mary School (Parent/Student Handbook page 18). Our insurance company has asked us not to use cell phones on campus during school hours for safety reasons. If there is a special need for your child to have a cell phone for after school hours it must be turned into the office in the morning and picked up after school. If a cell phone is taken from a student the parent/guardian must pick it up from the school office. Your cooperation with this is greatly appreciated.

Cartridges for kids - Ongoing Fundraiser

We receive money for empty cartridges and used cell phones. Save you empty inkjet, laser, fax and copier cartridges and turn them in to our front office.

Substitute Teachers

If you are interested in working as a substitute teacher, please call the school office at 433-9904. You must have at least a high school diploma. The Empowering Parents program is recommended.

CHILD PROTECTION POLICY :

Beginning Monday October 2, 2006 the curriculum that accompanies the Archdiocesan Children and Adolescents Protection Program will be taught in all religion classes.

Please remember that all volunteers who have been trained over the past year MUST participate in an annual education program. This year's annual training will be done online. The website is www.mobilearchdiocese.org and training material will be found on the Office of Child Protection page. There you will find instructions for retraining. There will be three, single-paged documents for trainees to read. After reading the articles, trainees can take a six question quiz on the documents. The person taking the quiz will get immediate feedback as to whether or not he/she passes the quiz. If the person passes, this will be registered at the Office of Child Protection. If the person does not pass, he/she can either review the material and take the quiz again immediately or take it later, as long as the person passes it as soon as possible.

All personnel were supposed to complete the annual training during the months of September and October. Retraining is supposed to take place by October 31st . Please take the quiz as soon as possible. You must be retrained before you can volunteer to be coaches, room mothers, drive on field trips, etc.

If you do not have access to a computer you can go to the local libraries or call the school office and we will make an appointment for you to use a computer.

If you have never been trained, you must attend one of the workshops held throughout the Archdiocese. You must be trained before you can volunteer to be coaches, room mothers, drive on field trips, etc. If you have any questions please call the school office.
